NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Today Crux, the capital platform for the clean economy, announced the close of a $215 million tax equity investment to support the Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center, a 240-megawatt utility-scale solar project in Franklin County, Ohio, developed and owned by Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held independent power producer and energy infrastructure innovator.

Currently under construction, the Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center will support approximately 300 construction jobs, generate reliable electricity that will be delivered to the local grid, and drive more than $230 million in local economic investment over the life of the project. A third-party offtaker will receive the clean energy credits associated with the new generation capacity of the facility, which is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027.

The investment was underwritten and structured by Crux Capital Securities, Crux's registered broker-dealer. The hybrid tax equity investment was made through a Crux-managed vehicle and is designed to efficiently monetize the project's federal investment tax credits while supporting the deployment of new utility-scale solar generation.

As demand for reliable, affordable electricity continues to boom across the United States, tax equity remains a foundational financing tool for large-scale clean energy infrastructure. Increasingly, developers are seeking integrated capital solutions that combine tax equity with transferable tax credits, debt capital, and other financing products to optimize project economics and accelerate the buildout of new power.

“Crux’s tax equity investment marks an important milestone for Pleasant Prairie Solar and reflects continued confidence in projects that help meet growing energy demand, while delivering meaningful local benefits,” said Matthew Ransweiler, Senior Vice President, Head of North America Project Finance at Invenergy. “Securing tax equity financing for this project with such a strong financial partner demonstrates our commitment to advancing energy infrastructure that supports economic growth, strengthens energy supply, and helps power communities across Ohio."

“Having worked alongside Invenergy for many years, it’s been a pleasure to support another important financing,” said Yonette Chung McLean, Chief Capital Officer of Crux. “As projects and capital markets become more sophisticated, success increasingly depends on bringing together the right mix of capital, structuring expertise, and execution. That’s exactly the role Crux fills: helping leading developers access efficient financing so they can keep building.”
